Jerga del gym en España: 4 verbos. Guía rápida (B1). For English speakers: short examples and usage nuances.
machacarse = entrenar muy duro. Ej.: Hoy me he machacado con piernas. In English: “to really push yourself / to go all‑out (in a good way) at the gym.”

reventarse = agotarse en exceso. Ej.: Me reventé haciendo HIIT; acabé KO. In English: “to be completely wiped out / to collapse from exhaustion.”

poner (el cuerpo) a tono = preparar/activar: calentar o tonificar. Ej.: 10 min de elíptica para ponerme a tono. In English: “to get (your body) warmed up / into gear / toned.”

petarlo = triunfar, hacerlo genial. En el gym: ¡Has petado la clase! (= te ha salido increíble). In English: “to smash it / to nail it / to absolutely kill it (do amazingly well).”
Ojo: petar = “to crash” (a computer); petarlo = “to be a big success” (youth colloquial). The difference matters in context.
Cultural tip: sports and colloquial expressions are learned best in context, with real examples and choice-based games. Try using them with friends in Spain.
