In wishes about the present or future after "ojalá", speakers normally use the present subjunctive: "funcione", "salga". The imperfect subjunctive ("funcionara/saliera") expresses something unreal/unlikely in the past or a polite dream. Around level B1, learners already meet subjunctive forms (for example, in negative imperatives).
