Express wish formula: ¡Que + presente de subjuntivo! Similar to English “may…”. E.g.: ¡Que te mejores! (“Get well soon / May you get better!”)

In tech, it sounds natural: ¡Que salga bien el deploy! (“Hope the deploy goes well!”) ¡Que no se caiga nada! Simple, friendly and warm.

More phrases: ¡Que vaya fino el test! (“Hope the test runs smoothly!”) ¡Que aproveche la demo! Use them before presenting or deploying.

No subject: we don’t say “Que tú salgas…”. Also works with pronouns: ¡Que os salga bien! / ¡Que le vaya bien!

Extra colloquial Spanish from Spain: if everything turns out perfectly: “ha quedado niquelado”. If there’s a mess: “menuda liada”.

Key point: it’s not a command (imperative), it’s a wish for someone else. Very common register at the office and among colleagues.

Comprehension check:

Completa: ¡Que ___ bien la demo!
salga
sale
saldrá
The correct pattern is: ¡Que + presente de subjuntivo! → salga (3rd person singular, present subjunctive).
It’s not future and not indicative; you need the presente de subjuntivo.
¿Cuál expresa un deseo y suena natural en España?
Cierra el servidor
Que no se caiga el servidor
Se cae el servidor
The form with “que + subjuntivo” expresses a wish about another person or thing, not a direct order.
Look for the structure with “que” + subjuntivo.
Elige la opción correcta: ¡Que os ____ bien el deploy!
salga
salís
saliera
For wishes about the present we use the presente de subjuntivo: salga. “os” = a vosotros.
Match tense and mood: presente + subjuntivo.
