Mandatos del médico (usted): frases clave en la consulta

En la consulta, el médico habla con usted (formal). Usa mandatos amables y claros. Añadir “por favor” suena correcto y natural.

Tome asiento = Please take a seat. (usted)

Abra la boca = Open your mouth. (usted)

Respire hondo = Take a deep breath.

No se mueva = Don't move. Note: the negative imperative with usted uses this present subjunctive base.

Trague = Swallow. (when the doctor is looking at your throat)

Por favor = softens the order. In Spain this is normal in a medical consultation.

Mini-diálogo: Pase y tome asiento. Abra la boca, por favor. Respire hondo… No se mueva… Trague. ¡Listo!
